Dr. Ramzi Hasson is a Pediatric Neuropsychologist (PhD, LP), specializing in the assessment and treatment of common neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g., Autism, ADHD, Developmental Delay, behavior and emotional regulation), neurological conditions (e.g., Traumatic Brain Injury; Epilepsy; Tuberous Sclerosis; Sickle Cell; Stroke; Genetic, Infections and Metabolic Disorders), and psychological disorders (Anxiety, Depression, Adjustment Disorder; Self-esteem; executive function problems) among very young children to very young adults!
Education and Clinical Training:
He earned his bachelor degree from Wayne State University in Psychology and Philosophy before achieving a Master and PhD degrees at Michigan State University within the College of Education, Counseling, and School Psychology.
During his doctoral training, he successfully completed, defended, and published his master and doctoral dissertations examining the influence of demographic factors on psychological and neuropsychological outcomes. In addition, he was engaged in intensive supervised clinical training within rural, suburban, and urban school systems, community-based mental health clinic under the supervision of licensed and board certified doctoral level specialists and sub-specialists.
As part of the graduation process, he completed a highly competitive and sought after APA accredited internship in Pediatric Neuropsychology and Health Psychology at the Children's Hospital of Michigan, Department of Psychology and Psychiatry.
After graduation, he further expanded his training by completing an independent intensive training in the assessment and treatment of autism spectrum disorder and related neurodevelopmental conditions. Further, he successfully completed a prestigious two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Michigan Division of Rehabilitation Psychology and Neuropsychology within the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Hasson was the Director of Psychological and Neuropsychological Assessment at University Pediatricians and DMC Neurology Division as well as an Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Central Michigan University School of Medicine.
Outside his professional roles, Dr. Hasson dedicates his time to his family, friends, and community. Personal interest include art and dance with his children, abstract painting while listening to music (aka Radiohead), as well as constant attention to the latest theoretical and computational neuroscience, evolutionary neurobiology, and theoretical physics to fulfill a lifelong mission of being a forever learner and educator!
